Technogy I can't live without.

Introduction.

It is the era of technology and there is no doubt about that whatsoever. It takes care of about practically everything we do from communication, to transportation, entertainment and down to virtually everything else, technology has a big say in it. In fact, our lives will not only be boring and mundane without technology, it will simply be downright impossible. Nowadays, we really don't need to learn how to do practically much anything, and mighty soon, we may not even need to learn how to drive, because there will be self driving cars. It is no longer required for you to learn how to read a map, for instance, since Sat Nav ( Satelite Navigation) can direct you to wherever you wish to go! Isn't that awesome? Research? Yes, what about it? Nobody relishes the idea of having to go through mountains of archaic books just to find out one bit of information any more, when you can have all the facts you require at just the click of a computer mouse. Indeed, research has never been so simplified and attractive really, which now makes the prospect of conducting it very appealing. Having said all these, it is now pertinent to ask what technology is there that we cannot live without.

Available technologies keep increasing daily, but some are more desirable than others. Let us now look at those of them that are quite indispensable in our lives. Overall, over 80 percent of people in the UK use smartphones, and the average adult spends about 20 hours online every week. Of this number, about 80 percent check their phones only 15 minutes after waking from sleep everyday. Meanwhile, 1 person in every 4 people suffer from mental health issues, and about seventy five percent of them cannot access medical care. Now, shouldn't we take advantage of technology and apply smart solutions to improve access to health care? Let us venture into technologies that people can't imagine living without.

Online shopping.

It is common knowledge that most people shop online, and what's more, some even prefer it for reasons of time and the need to avoid crowded shopping malls. Furthermore, online shopping provides you with the opportunity to compare prices. To buttress this fact, we may have to mention that about 80 percent of the online population have used the internet to make various purchases.

Online money management.

It is now a common trend for people to use online banking as against the traditional means of physical banking. In addition, people are now increasingly using apps on their mobile phones and computers to carry out transactions, check their account balances, and also to pay their bills or for whatever it is they care for. In fact, in the UK alone, bank customers use online banking 7 billion times more each year.

 The GPS ( Global Positioning System).

The GPS was introduced by the military sometime in the early 80s, which is a sort of navigation system in order to help people or troops to reach their final destinations. Notably however, it has now become a common sight to see people leaned over their smartphone screens as they try to track themselves on a map towards their destinations.

Sharing pictures online.

A picture, it is commonly said, is worth more than a thousand words, and I couldn't agree more. People now have the ability to take pictures whenever and wherever they so wish with the aid of their mobile phones, and hurriedly share same via the social media without the need for any explanations. In fact, it is said that over 240 thousand new pictures are shared on Facebook alone every single minute. Now, consider the mammoth figure if you put other platforms like Twitter, Instagram and WeChat into the mix. That's just pretty fucking crazy, right?

Video calls.

How pathetic that our grandparents had to rely primarily on the traditional mail to keep in touch. Presently, countless people use video calls to get in contact with family members or friends, to conduct remote or virtual business meetings, and in fact, to contact about just anybody they wish. Just for the record, there are about 5 million users of Skype daily, who spend approximately 3 billion minutes together. Can you beat that? I guess not.

Online care for our pockets.

Without any doubt whatsoever, technologies are already seamlessly integrated into our minds and everyday life worldwide. If that is so, why aren't people with mental complaints given the chance to access requisite therapy online? Should we opt for this alternative in our health care system, we could in fact better the lot of many with regards to accessing medical care. That includes even culture groups in whose cases mental health issues are ascribed one sort of stigma or the other. All in all, let us empower people to take charge of their own mental issues in such a way that will perfectly fit their everyday life.

Inventions we simply can't live without.

However one takes it, there are certain inventions we simply can't live without in the contemporary world. Some of these are:

* Contacts. Approximately 13 percent of the entire US population wears contacts.

* Toilets.

* Microwave ovens

* Refrigerator machines.

* The vacuum cleaner.

* The cellphone

* Toothbrush and lots more.

Simply, mull over these items, and in no time, you'll come to realize how indispensable they are to us all the world over.

Inventions that shaped the world.

Regardless of everything, there are also stand-out inventions that have changed and reshaped the world completely. Most notable among these are:

* Stone tools. These include uniface blades and the three end scrapers.

* Daguerreotype.

* Saxophone.

* Bessemer Process

* Celluloid.

* Edison cylinder phonograph.

* Wright flyer of 1903.

* Iconoscope television camera a d kinescope receiver and so on.

No matter what one might think, technology has made our lives far easier than has been the case previously, and also much better too, through fast, efficient and wonderful means of communication. Now, everybody can talk to anybody wherever they may be on the planet earth, at little or no cost. This is mighty comforting, I must confess. For short, the user experience and interface have tremendously improved with the upcoming modern age of technology worldwide.

Advantages of technology.

To make the article more complete, we should pay attention to some advantages enjoyed by way of all these technological innovations.

(1). Reading g of books. You can now stay at your Bunchy Montville cabins and promptly get lost in an entirely different world, as well as enjoy a little time away from digital devices by reading an old fashioned paperback book. That's a tremendous wonder indeed, and I am certain you concur.

(2). Technology had made communication a lot faster, easier and much more effective than has hitherto been the case.

(3). It has also made our manufacturing techniques better and much more efficient too.

(4). Technology has enormously reduced wastage in all parameters. In fact. waste is now wealth, in most instances.

(5). Our stock management and ordering systems have now become more efficient as well.

(6). It has accorded us the ability to both develop and sustain new innovative approaches in virtually every human enterprise.

(7). In the same vein, both marketing and promotion have become more effective too.

(8). It has availed to us new sales avenues. We can go on and on and on without any let up, but I believe the few discussed so far will suffice in order to drive home our points convincingly.

What are the disadvantages of technology?

To every coin, there are two faces, or so it is said. Therefore, technology may be all we have said it is and even more, but it still has some disadvantages too. Some of these disadvantages are:

* Data security. As long as someone has what it takes to infiltrate or intrude into your privacy, whatever data you may protect cannot be said to be entirely safe. Afterall, we all know that hackers are on the prowl, and relentlessly too.

* Crime and terrorism. People of the dark are ever busy using technological innovations to perpetrate evil as we see and read daily from worldwide terrorism and crime reports.

* Complexity. With every stride made in technology, we are further enmeshed in more complexity as well.

* Privacy Concerns. Our private lives are no longer as secured as they used to be.

* Social Disconnect. Most of the time we are so engrossed in our gadgets that we have little or no time to socialize as humans have been known to in times long gone.

* The need to update and keep abreast of developments worldwide has somewhat gotten us overloaded.

* Digital manipulation is now very common.

* Job Insecurity. With machines taking over from humans in most spheres of our lives, more and more people are losing their jobs to either robots or other more efficient and cost effective gadgets constantly.

Conclusion.

Whatever is worth knowing about technology, in a general sense, has been given the attention it deserves, this knowledge will surely guide us to take the steps needed whenever the occasion demands. Have a cheerful venture.
